                      WILLINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION MEETING        
October 8, 2014 Meeting


Call to Order: The meeting was called to order @ 7:05 pm.
Roll Call:  P. Anderson, K. Demers, M. Drobney, C. Jordan, M. Schreiber, R. Shabot. J. Cartabiano was present but not seated.
Approval of Minutes of 07/16/14: Minutes approved with 3 ayes and 3 abstentions: MD, KP, MS. So moved
Seating of Alternates:  NA
Present to Speak:  None
Finance:  CJ gave a report of invoices paid.
On a motion by CJ/RS: WCC approves the expenditure of $990.00 to  Natural Resource Consultants LLC for the “Inventory, Silvicultural Prescription and Harvest Operational Plan for Fenton-Ruby Park and Wildlife Preserve Park Management Unit 08” presented to WC. Unanimous vote.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Properties Management
FRP-DS: Trails/Maintenance: Discussion ensued on the list of maintenance projects that exist in the park.  They are marker posts, new Trail Guides, replacement stone under informational kiosk, bridging material, water bar placement
Knowlton Preserve/TalmadgeTract: The TT bridge project is still not completed.
Peck’s Mill. PA will check in on the property and report at next meeting.
A “Work Day” is scheduled for November 1, 2014 from 9am until work is completed. There is a raindate of November 2, 2014. Meet up is @ the Burma Road entrance to FRP.
On a motion by CJ/KD: WCC authorizes P. Anderson to purchase any supplies that will be needed for the 1-1-2014 “WorkDay” @ FRP-DS and Knowlton Preserve/TalmadgeTract. Unanimous vote.
B. Town Development: PZC; IWWC: No news

C. Collaborative Organizations:
Willimantic River Alliance: No report
Joshua’s Trust: The Esther Labbee Property in Willington has been purchased by E. Wazer and R. Mocanu for continued farming.
Windham County Conservation Consortium: No Report
D.   Levesque Farmland Preservation No news
E. Northern CT Land Trust: There may be a request for a resident of Willington to become a member of this organization.  This matter is on the 10/28/14 agenda of NCLT. Members of WCC were encouraged to attend.
F. Other: Janice Boltseridge of Willington would like to dedicate a memorial bench in honor of her late husband. CJ will correspond with her and report back to WCC.

NEW BUSINESS
B. Communications: CACIWC annual meeting is 11/15/2014. On a motion by CJ/KD the WCC will reimburse M. Schreiber for the regristation fee of $40.00 to attend the CACIWC annual meeting on 11/15/2014. Unanimous vote.
B.  Other: Discussion on the update of the POCD that will occur in 2015.
